3D Modeling
Object modelling and interior environments
Two 3D modelling coursework projects. Object Model recreates everyday items from physical references. Scene Model reimagines the grandmother’s home from Little Red Riding Hood as a traditional Chinese residence, developed from sketches through modelling, materials and lighting.
- FORMAT
- Two individual coursework projects · Object Model / Scene Model
- MY ROLE
- Maya modelling, scene layout, material setup, lighting and rendering; selected texture adjustments in Photoshop.
Object Model · Everyday objects
Modelled a bag, sunglasses, perfume bottle, bracelet and watch from reference photographs. The project studies soft and hard forms, proportions and details, with fabric, leather, glass, metal and silicone materials. The group render and material details are shown alongside the real-object reference for comparison.
Scene Model · Traditional Chinese interior
Reimagined the grandmother’s home from Little Red Riding Hood as a Ming-era Chinese interior. Circular windows, wooden furniture, porcelain and everyday props define the space, with warm late-afternoon lighting.
Sketches, layout and modelling
Started with an initial sketch and floor plan, then modelled the interior structure, furniture and props. The images show the design drawings, untextured scene and prop modelling process from the project report.
Materials and lighting
Scene textures came from asset libraries and reference imagery, with selected maps adjusted in Photoshop. Lighting began with a SkyDome Light, followed by Area Lights to add direction and depth. The images show the material and lighting setups.
